Cork Gallery Policies and Procedures

OSI Baltimore Community Fellows Program
Member Policies and Procedures

The Cork Factory Building is home to a number of residents and art studios. One residence is directly adjacent to the Cork Gallery, and residents live above and below the space. Therefore, please be considerate when planning your event and follow these policies:
1) Use of Space:
a. The Cork Gallery is for the purposes of furthering the programmatic mission of a community based program operated by a member of the Baltimore Community Fellows Alumni Network or approved by Fusion Partnerships, Inc.
b. Proper use of the Cork Gallery includes: Fundraising events, meetings, workshops, events highlighting program work, speaking events, movie showings, Network sponsored social events, and so on. THE SPACE MAY NOT BE USED FOR PRIVATE PARTIES, WEDDING RECEPTIONS, BIRTHDAYS, BABY OR WEDDING SHOWERS, ETC.
c. If you are having an event with ‘loud’ noise, such as music performance, dancing, etc. – please notify the Gallery Manager ahead of time so we can contact people who live in the building.
d. The Gallery has wireless internet access; however, you must receive WEP passcode from Gallery Management.
2) Scheduling and Gallery Management
a. To schedule an event, please contact the Gallery manager Contact information is below.
b. A Gallery Manager will let you into the building and explain cleaning and security procedures. They can also be available at the end of your event.
c. Cancellation Policy: Please contact the Gallery Manager 48 hours in advance if you must cancel your reservation. Failure to notify the Gallery manager can result in a fine or revoked membership.
3) Event Hours
a. All events must end by 10PM on weekdays (Sunday – Thursday)
b. All events must end by 11PM on weekends (Friday, Saturday)
c. No event can start before 8AM on any day of the week.
d. No ‘loud’ noise can take place between 9AM and 2PM on Friday and Saturday.
4) Security
a. IF YOU ARE HAVING A LARGE EVENT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC YOU MUST STAFF THE DOOR TO THE BUILDING. At no time can the entrance door to the building be propped open or the lock set in such a way to stop the door from automatically locking. This is a multiuse building with the security of everyone left in the hands of the residents and renters of the space within. We must play our part to keep it safe for everyone.
b. For smaller events (25 people or less) you can use the buzzer system (buzzer #9). Please ask for identify your guests before opening the door.

5) Alcohol and Smoking
c. Users of the Cork Gallery may not sell or take donations for alcohol unless a temporary liquor license has been secured. Users must check the IDs of all individuals who receive alcohol.
d. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Cork Gallery or the Cork Factory building. In order to smoke one must go outside of the entrance to the building.
5) Freight Elevator
a. No one other than the authorized Gallery Manager may operate the freight elevator. If you need the freight elevator for your event please notify your Gallery Manager about a week in advance.
6) Supervision of Minors
a. Minors must be supervised at all times and are prohibited from leaving the Cork Gallery unaccompanied by an adult.
7) Liability
a. Gallery users agree to pay for any damage done to the space or its furnishings. The owners, managers, and Fusion Partnerships, Inc. (as the leaser of the property for the Community Fellows Network) are not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage of the users’ belongings.
8) Cleaning
a. It is the responsibility of the Cork Gallery user to clean up after every event. Cleaning procedures are posted in the kitchen of the Gallery.
b. If you choose to forfeit your cleaning responsibility, you can pay a cleaning fee of $75 to help cover the costs of hiring a professional cleaner.
c. ALL SPILLS OF ANY LIQUID MUST BE WIPED UP IMMEDIATLEY. Paintings are stored in the gallery below the Cork Gallery and any liquid left on the floor drips down onto the paintings below. ALSO, ice must be kept in coolers or other waterproof containers at all times.
